How is this different from Uber Eats?
Uber Eats is a marketplace: Uber sells your food on their app and takes 30% commission. Uber Direct is just the delivery rails. You sell on your own channels and pay a flat fee per delivery for the driver. Same fleet, none of the marketplace toll.
How much does each delivery cost?
A flat fee per delivery, not a cut of the sale, and it moves with distance and demand. We confirm the rate for your area on the demo. You decide what to charge your customer; the difference is your delivery margin.
What if a driver doesn't show up?
Uber's dispatch auto-redispatches and looks for another available driver.
Can I use Uber Direct for catering orders?
For a catering order that fits in one vehicle and goes to a single address, yes. If your catering runs bigger than that, talk to your account manager before you promise a client a date.
What if my city doesn't have Uber Direct?
Use Eatsy's in-house delivery dispatch (IHD) instead: your own drivers, on Eatsy's dispatch software. Some restaurants run both, with Uber Direct as overflow during peaks.
